THE "ULTRA" LIFT: The Mini-Lift with Maxi Results WHAT IS THE ULTRA LIFT? The Ultra Lift is a minimally invasive facelift that is done in our office surgical suite. In about one hour, years are taken off your face by lifting and removing droopy and sagging excess skin in the chin, jowls and neck areas. |

ADVANTAGES OF THE ULTRA-LIFT HOW DOES IT DIFFER FROM A FACELIFT? A standard facelift has to be done in the hospital because more extensive muscle work is performed which requires more anesthesia. It is the procedure of choice for the person who has severe laxity of the jowls, neck, and chin. The Ultra-Lift is a mini-facelift that corrects the same areas but is less invasive. It is a procedure done in our office surgical suite that is appropriate for the person with early signs of facial droopiness, or whose neck muscles are still fairly firm but whose skin has loosened up. Candidacy for either procedure is determined at the time of your consultation and examination. UNDERSTANDING THE SURGERY An incision is made at the top of the ear, circling around the front and barely inside the ear, under the earlobe, into the crease behind the ear, and sometimes continued on into the hairline. The skin is loosened, the deeper muscle tissues and connective tissues are tightened. Some fat may be removed at that time as well. The skin is redraped, the excess is removed, and the incision is sutured. With a combination of mild sedatives, mild intravenous sedation, and local anesthesia, little discomfort is experienced. |

WHAT RESULTS CAN I EXPECT? Changes are subtle. You will not look “different”, but your face will take on a more youthful, rested and fresher appearance. On the average, the improvement will last about five years. Signs of aging continue, of course, but you should look better after five years than you would have, had you not undergone treatment. After a short stay in the recovery room, you return home to rest for 24 hrs. with supervision. You may return to normal activities when you feel up to it, probably within a couple of days. Avoid strenuous exercise, lifting heavy objects, or excessive bending for a couple of weeks. Healing is usually rapid and uneventful with minimal pain. |
